Hey Senator Perdue, Georgia’s arts and entertainment industries have joined together to protect the live ecosystem (see today’s Atlanta Journal-Constitution). Live music is an important part of the fabric of America. Congress must save live music by supporting the Restart Act, Save Our Stages Act, and any other provisions that will bring relief to the live music community. To help show the impact of how Mastodon playing just one show at Center Stage (beyond our team of band, crew, merchandise company, bus company, publicist, manager and agent) affects our local ecosystem, our people on the tour will stay at the Artmore Hotel, and keep the venue personnel (GM, production manager, stagehands, box office staff, janitorial staff, concession staff, ticket takers, security etc.) working. Also, the foot traffic created by our fans for restaurants like DaVinci’s Pizzeria, Xhibit, E Ramen, 5Church, Tin Lizzy’s, McCray’s Tavern (and the 100 other restaurants, bars and shops in the area) both before and after the show helps to support local businesses. To support live music, please let Congress know that you care by dropping them a note at https://nitolive.org/resources/take-action/ because we don’t want venues like the Center Stage to close forever.
